Karyn Pierce serves as the Special Education Director at Silo Public Schools. She is responsible for providing services to children ages 3 to 21. Karyn graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Science-Mild/Moderate Disabilities and later returned obtaining her Master in School Administration. She has taught in the classroom ranging from a self-contained room to resource room in both Texas and Oklahoma before becoming a director. She also takes great pride as being a teacher recruiter, supervising student teachers, and serving on the student teacher return day board. Karyn enjoys taking her students to Special Olympics events and watching them compete with great pride. She also enjoys interacting with her students daily and finding the “SHINE” in each of them. She is no stranger when it comes to loving her students, learning something to help her kids and/or their parents, or being involved in anything positive.
Karyn is married to Justin, which also works in the school system. They have 2 beautiful teenage daughters that keep them very busy. When Karyn is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping and being outside.
